Open phantom.app in Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge on your desktop. For mobile, search "Phantom Wallet" in the App Store or Google Play — download only from the official store listing.
Select your browser, then click "Add to [Browser]" on the extension store page. The Phantom icon will appear in your browser toolbar after installation.
Phantom will show you a 12-word seed phrase (recovery phrase). Write this down on paper immediately. Do not take a screenshot. Do not save it in a notes app or email. This phrase is the master key to your wallet — anyone with it can access your funds.
Phantom will ask you to confirm a few words from your phrase to make sure you wrote it down. Select the correct words in order. This step cannot be skipped.
Create a password for browser-level access to your wallet. This is separate from your seed phrase — it only protects the extension on this device.
